How do I go about Selling my Timeshare?

Most people come to a time in there life where they just can't use the timeshare resort anymore or they just don't care to go there anymore. 
So how do you sell a timeshare? 
Lots of people figure it is just a property like their house so they go to their Realtor.  Others figure the original sales agent or timeshare resort will sell it for them.  Others advertise in their newspapers and other classified sections.  We are going to discuss this in the next few sections.

A realtor can sell my house why not my Timeshare?

This is a very common response we hear from timeshare owners.  You really have to think about what a realtor does when selling a house.  They show the property to prospective buyer.  Now ask yourself "how is my realtor going to show my timeshare to prospective buyers"?  The answer is they can't.  A realtor does not have access to your property to show it.  A realtor will also charge you an upfront $500 fee to appraise the property then there will be a 20% - 30% commission on the backend.  If you tell a realtor that you want to get $10,000 for your Timeshare they are probably going to price your timeshare at $13,000 so that they get their 30%.  Adding in a 30% commission is going to price you right out of the market and make your property very unattractive.
